The best media salespeople in Australia: Media i Sales Excellence Award winners revealed
More than 3,500 media agency professionals can’t be wrong: They all voted for the best media sales execs and teams in Australia – with the top guns awarded last night at a sold out Ivy Ballroom in Sydney. Here’s the full list of winners.
The winners of the media industry's premier sales awards were unveiled at a sold out ceremony in Sydney’s Ivy Ballroom last night. The Media i Awards, voted on by both global multinational and boutique/independent agency peers, recognise the vital role media sales representatives play in driving excellence in media advertising.
Launched in 2011, the Media i Awards stand as the only industry-wide recognition program dedicated to honouring the achievements of media salespeople and the exceptional service they provide to agencies and their clients.
This year, more than 3,500 media agency professionals cast their votes across three key categories:
- National Sales Team of the Year
- Sales Team of the Year by Market (NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia & South Australia)
- Sales Person of the Year by Category & Market (Publishing Media, Radio/Streaming, Adtech, Television/Streaming, Social Media, Outdoor/Cinema)
Charles Parry Okeden, CEO of Media i, addressed the audience during the ceremony, acknowledging the challenges faced by media sales professionals and commending the perseverance of the media owner community.
“It requires tremendous dedication, hard work, and resilience to consistently meet client needs at the highest level, all while navigating an ever-evolving and complex media landscape. Those of you who have mastered this art are the ones being honoured tonight,” he said.
He also took a moment to celebrate the finalists: "Congratulations to all the finalists on their well-deserved nominations. You should take great pride in being recognised by your peers for your outstanding achievements."
Chris Winterburn, Managing Director of Media i, added, "The response from everyone involved has been overwhelming, further highlighting the importance of this initiative to sales teams and individuals across the country. On behalf of Media i, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of tonight's winners for their remarkable accomplishments."
The Media i Awards are proudly run by Media i and supported by the Media Federation of Australia (MFA) as well as returning category sponsors: Carat, EssenceMediacom, Initiative, iProspect, Kaimera, Mindshare, OMD, PHD, Spark Foundry, UM, Wavemaker, and Zenith.
This year’s awards saw a strong performance from sales teams representing Out-of-Home and AdTech sectors, though competition was fierce across all categories. Leading media companies oOh!media, SCA, The Trade Desk, and Yahoo were the most awarded on the night, with trophies presented to 22 different media owner sales organisations.
The National Sales Team of the Year award was presented to The Trade Desk by Sophie Madden, CEO of MFA, and Mark Coad, MFA board member and CEO of IPG Mediabrands Australia.
The Media i Awards continue to be a key event in recognising the outstanding talent and contributions of media sales teams and individuals who play a pivotal role in shaping the advertising landscape.
