South by Southwest Sydney (SXSW Sydney) has confirmed it will be returning in 2025, bringing its Conference, Expo and Festival events to Sydney's Darling Harbour, Chippendale and Broadway precincts from October 13 to 19.

It comes as the event organisers celebrate a successful 2024 run, having delivered 1,400 conference sessions, 95 screenings, 315 performances, 150 games and brand activations to more than 92,000 unique attendees from 56 different countries. There were more than 300,000 visits in total over the seven days and nights, including 190,000 people who attended free programming in Tumbalong Park - an improvement on last year's total attendance of 287,014.

While overall attendance was up, the total number of unique visitors fell marginally, from 97,462 in 2023. SXSW Sydney did not publish the number of badges, wristbands, tickets and passes sold compared to last year's 34,975.

Submissions for the SXSW Sydney 2025 Conference, Music, Screen and Games Festival will open early in 2025. SXSW Sydney is delivered in partnership with the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW. SXSW Sydney is an annual gathering of visionaries, thought leaders and emerging talents from the Asia-Pacific region. The week-long program includes more than 1,000 events and networking sessions across the key pillars of Tech & Innovation, Games, Music and Screen.
